I was invited to be a member in a Robotics/AI think tank in Madrid, Spain to tackle the problem: “How will robotics and AI impact the global labor market?”. The think tank consisted of 25 experts on robotics, artificial intelligence, and the global economy. Besides myself, the other 24 members included IBM’s director of AI, an AI expert from MIT, Israel’s Minister of the Economy, CEOs of American robotics companies, the head of the Singapore economy, robotics experts from China and Japan, and many others. I was the only member less than 35 years old (I was 15). When I was invited to participate in the think tank, I was excited that it was in Spain. I was hoping to give my presentation in Spanish so that I could get lots of practice, but because it was an international conference all the meetings were in English. The main think tank room consisted of a giant UN-style U-shaped table, each of us with our own microphone, name plate, water pitcher, and so on. We also went into breakout rooms to discuss and hash out specific issues and then come back to report to the main body. In the end, we presented a compilation report of our findings. I was alone, and very busy, so it was nearly impossible to get any pictures, but here are a few. —Camille
